11/18-24/07 I skipped going to the property this week because of Thanksgiving. I bought some electrical supplies at Home Depot and got some advice on wiring up outside receptacles on the porch. I also bought a long flexible augur that I will try to use to drill down through log columns. I want to have switches for loft lights, inside staircase lights, and dining room lights mounted in the Grid B.5,2.5, and the C2 columns. The plan is to chisel out the holes for the electrical boxes and then use the augur to drill down from inside the hole. Hopefully I will be able to drill all the way to the floor inside the log. If the augur comes peeking out of the log, it will be near the floor so a patch won't be too noticeable. It will be a fun challenge no matter how it comes out and I think the results will look nice.
