Construction Journal Entry Week of 8/2/15

8/6-7/15 Ellen, Marilyn and I spent Thursday night at Camp Serendipity.

Before we arrived, we hiked the 5-mile Icicle Gorge Loop Trail. It was gorgeous. Then we did some shopping in Peshastin at Smallwood's Harvest. From there we went back to Leavenworth and had a delicious German dinner at Andreas Kellar.

We arrived at Camp Serendipity around 6:00. After moving our stuff in, getting comfortable, taking showers, and relaxing a little, we watched "Woman in Gold" on DVD. It was based on a true story and we all enjoyed it.

In the morning after coffee, we packed up and left for Leavenworth where we had quiche for brunch at the Gingerbread Bakery. Then we lined up at Leavenworth Outdoor Center to ride inner tubes down a section of the Wenatchee River in Leavenworth. As we got out of the bus at the starting point, we ran into Dave, the owner of the business. Marilyn has known him for a long time. It was a 2-hour float. We all had a fabulous time. The scenery was spectacular and we enjoyed relaxing on the water. The water was extra low so we scraped the rocks a few times going over the shallow riffles. When we finished, we drove straight to Marilyn's and then home from there.
