Construction Journal Entry Week of 1/28/24

1/29-2/1/24 I went up to Camp Serendipity for four days: Monday through Thursday.

I had a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning, so I left late. Traffic, weather, and road conditions were good. I arrived at 2:00. The snow on the ground was pretty much unchanged from last week. I brought my gear up in two trips. At one point I stepped off the trail and fell into a hole up to my crotch but otherwise I had no problem.

I hoisted the flag, had my lunch at 2:30, and did not take a nap. I put stuff away, practiced the piano, and had my shower.

On Tuesday when I got up the temperature outside was 32 degrees. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and then walked to the grave. When I returned, I had my lunch and a nap and then vacuumed the first floor. Then I did some reading.

On Wednesday I practiced the piano and then went outside and walked to the bridge in a light rain. After lunch and a nap, I noticed some animal tracks coming out of the creek bed and making a beeline to the cabin where they went up over the snow berm below the eaves and then down under the front porch. I couldn't see any individual tracks distinctly, but judging from other clues, I think the animal was about the size of a bobcat or a coyote. It's fun to know that I have visitors from time to time even though I don't see them.

On Thursday morning I practiced the piano and then went outside and walked to the grave. Then I had an early lunch and packed up to go home. I had another doctor's appointment on Friday, so I needed to be home today. I left for home at 12:15 after a short but fun week.
