7/5-8/23 I went up to Camp Serendipity for four days: Wednesday through Saturday.
I left at 2:30 and arrived at 5:30. I brought my gear up to the cabin in one trip, hoisted the flag, and had my dinner. That was it for the day.
On Thursday Dave called first thing and we had a great conversation and finalized plans for his visit next week. I was glad I had come up the night before or else I would have missed his call.
After breakfast, I practiced the piano and then went out and whacked weeds down in the parking area draining both batteries. After lunch and a nap, I spent the rest of the afternoon organizing things in the loft.
Then I went into the woods to check on the trees. I checked Paul , Runty , Dan, Dave, Earl, Ellen, Bill, Cam, Brian, and Andrew. I brought 4 gallons of water to Andrew. I was happy to find that Ellen is recovering nicely from the broken top. There are a few small brown branches right near the injury, but the bulk of the top, which is still held in place by the splint, is lush and thriving. All of the rest of the trees are thriving as well.
After lunch and a nap, I loaded a bunch of water jugs into the truck. Then I set up a cot for one of the guys to use next week. Finally, I did some more cleaning and organizing.
