Construction Journal Entry Week of 12/31/23

1/2-5/24 I went up to Camp Serendipity for four days: Tuesday through Friday.

I left late because I had to deal with some insurance company instructions about taking pictures of the cabin. I arrived at 1:30 and found there was 3 inches of new snow that hadn't been plowed. I didn't have any problem driving over it and parking. I also didn't need to shovel off the staircase. I brought my gear up in two trips, hoisted the flag, and had my lunch and a nap. When I got up, I played the piano and then built a fire in the stove to make my shower a little more pleasant.

On Wednesday the temperature outside was the usual 25 degrees. I practiced the piano and then went outside and took pictures for the insurance company of all four sides of the building. Then I drove to the old Ranger Station so I could get Internet service to e-mail those pictures to Ellen. Then after talking with Ellen, I took some more pictures and went back to the Ranger Station and sent them.

After lunch and a nap, I practiced the piano and then took 14 more pictures of the rooms inside the cabin.

On Thursday I practiced the piano, listened to the radio a little, and then walked to the grave. It was snowing and there were a couple inches of snow on the road. I had a lump or crease in my sock so I blistered my big toe in the process.

After lunch and a nap, I spent the rest of the afternoon reading.

On Friday I wanted to get home early to send the pictures to the insurance company so after I had practiced the piano, I packed up and left for home at 11:20.
