Construction Journal Entry Week of 3/27/22

3/29-4/1/22 I went up to Camp Serendipity for four days: Tuesday through Friday.

I arrived at 11:00 o'clock and brought my gear up to the cabin in three trips. I hoisted the flag and then had my lunch and a nap. When I got up, I went outside and used a short rope to tie Paul 's stem to the signpost trying to straighten out the kinks.

Then I went in, practiced the piano, and then did some work on the geometry models I intend to build.

On Wednesday I slept in. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and did some more work on my geometric models.

After lunch and a nap, I tried writing but was not inspired. I did some more work on the geometry models.

On Thursday I slept in again. After practicing the piano, Dave called, and we had a delightful extra-long conversation. Then while I listened to the radio, I fertilized and watered Tiger the snake plant.

After lunch and a nap, I went outside and hung a new salt block from the tree for the deer. Then I squirted a little fertilizer into Paul 's watering funnel. The snow had melted back enough that I was able to find and uncover two of my surveying benchmarks.

Then I took a shovel into the woods and dug out most of the Giant Sequoia trees from under the snow. It was too deep to dig out Earl and I didn't even try for John or Larry. But the rest of them were pretty deep so that should give them quite a head start on the growing season. I took pictures of the trees after I had released them.

On Friday I practiced the piano, and then listened to the radio. I cleaned up the mess on the stove hearth and then got ready to leave. I left for home at 12:45 glad to be feeling back to normal.
