Log Home Pictures from 1997, Part 1 of 4

The major project for 1997 was to build the log walls of the house. The snow got deep this winter. I had to go down into a hole in the snow to get into the trailer.

I had to dig the snow away from the base of the crane boom so that it could swing.

I had to dig out the sheets that control the boom swing. You can see the trench I dug and the sheet inside it. The sheet runs through a pully attached to the tree at the extreme right, so that I can control the boom from inside the building.

After banging my head a few times, I made a habit of keeping the snow clear of the doorway.

An ice storm left everything covered in icicles. The window frames are ready to be installed.

Here I am chiseling the seats in the log for the window frames.
