Log Home Pictures from 2002, Part 1 of 3
The major projects for 2002 were to finish building and staining the porch log structure, to chink as much of the outside of the building as possible, and to begin building the porch deck.

In this composite picture taken from the cliff behind the building, you can see the first three deck joists in place. You can also see Nason Ridge in the background above the building, and, if you scroll over, you can see the northeast wall of the building. 1/17/02

Eight porch joists are in place here. 2/20/02

Some more excavation was required before I could place joists on this end of the porch. As you can see, the rocks and dirt were higher than the tops of the two porch beams. 2/20/02

Nearly all the deck joists are in place in this picture. 3/28/02

Time to stain the entire porch log structure. Here is the Grid F purlin and the scaffolding I used to reach it. You can see a rope hanging from one of two anchor hooks that are visible under the end of the purlin. 4/17/02
